Discover the Pedersoli Gibbs percussion rifle in .451 caliber - the perfect long gun even at over 1000 yards.

Replica of one of the most famous rifles from the era of precision shooting in the second half of the 19th century, an original from around 1865 by the English gunsmith George Gibbs (1813-1884).
In 1865, Sir Henry Halford won the Cambridge Cup match with a rifle from George Gibbs' workshop. Fifteen shots were fired at 1,000 and 1,100 yards each day over two days. The London Times of June 15, 1865, wrote the following about the rifle: 'The gun with which the prize was won, it is said, will cause quite a sensation among those interested in small-bore and long-range shooting, as it is based on entirely new principles.' The Times was right, because in collaboration with William Ellis Metford and John Farquharson, innovative weapons were created specifically for long-range shooting and hunting.
In 1865, the NRA initiated the first of two competitions held at the extreme distance of 2,000 yards. The rifle designed by William Metford and manufactured by George Gibbs was the only successful one.

This replica is ideal for the demanding 100-meter shooter, but also for longer distances (see achievements below). The octagonal to round, rifled barrel in .451 caliber with six grooves is blued.
The stock, made of select wood with a first-class grain, features finely carved checkering on the fore-end and pistol grip. An oil finish completes the elegant appearance. Steel butt plates complete the buttstock. The pistol grip provides a comfortable grip and excellent balance.
The weapon comes with a high-quality Creedmoor rear sight, which is 3 inches (approx. 76 mm) adjustable for elevation and features dual windage adjustment. The adjustable tunnel front sight features a bubble level.

The lock and fittings are color-hardened.

Condition: The weapon has light scratches on the rear of the stock above the pistol grip, which are only visible in the light. There are also light scratches on the underside near the trigger and on the rear of the stock. There are three small scratches in the bluing on the barrel (approx. 1-2 mm in size). The retaining screw for the tang was probably slightly displaced by the previous owner using an incorrect screwdriver.
The weapon has been fired and has the overall condition "Used - Slight signs of wear"
The left flap for closing the case has broken off, but this is not a problem. The case can also be locked with a suitable lock ( see here ).
