Lead round bullets .453 (revolver)

The balls are cast by machine and checked for quality!

100 pieces of lead round balls for rifles and/or handguns in caliber .453

Diameter (approx.): 11.49 mm

This is one of the typical bullet sizes for .45 percussion revolvers!

Please measure the drum to see if this bullet fits, because I also have other revolver bullets!

Of course, a revolver bullet is NOT guided with a patch, but the barrel has a slightly smaller size than the cylinder bore and so the fields cut into the bullet and give it guidance!
If the bullet is used for a revolver, the size of the bullet should be approx. 0.1 mm larger than the drum bore!
Of course, no plaster patch is needed for this!

This ensures that the chambers are sealed against each other and that double ignition cannot occur. Of course, smearing the bore with grease is also required!

This ball was rolled in a drum and then treated with wax and graphite (see picture 3). This means that it no longer has any casting slugs.

From now on I will roll (drum) lead balls and treat them with wax and graphite.
It is clearly visible that the casting slugs and possible casting burrs have almost completely disappeared.

The advantage of casting is that there are no cavities in the bullet, because the air can still escape from the top of the mold. During pressing, cavities can appear in the lead, which cause the bullets to have very different weights and therefore different impact positions. However, these pressed bullets do not have a casting slug.

With this method I now combine the advantages of casting with those of pressing. Uniform ball weights and NO casting slugs.

Tania Heber (German Champion, European Champion, World Champion in the various muzzle-loading disciplines) would also only use rolled bullets!
