Due to the special shape of the Hodgdon bullet, it combines Maxi-Ball and Minie bullets in one: the Maxi-Ball bullet with its circular punched holes and the Minie with its hollow base and therefore easy loading.
The bullet is easy to load because, due to the hollow base, the soft lead is only pressed into the fields and trains when the shot explodes and is thus guided. You can still grease the bullet through the grease grooves.
Please note the dimensions of the bullets so that they also fit the intended barrel!
It's no fun sending bullets back and forth just because the dimensions weren't taken into account.
