Due to the difference in diameter in the width of the ridges that delimit the grease groove, the bullets can simply be placed in the barrel up to the upper ridge. Then you can, with light thumb pressure, let the bullet disappear completely in the barrel. Now, for example, the bullet is pushed the first few centimeters into the barrel with a bullet launcher and then pushed down to the intermediate agent or powder with the loading rod. The fields and grooves cut wonderfully into the floor, as can be seen clearly on the photo of the floor lying flat. Here it was loaded into an Investarms Great Plains Rifle.
These bullets leave holes in the disks, similar to a Wadcutter bullet, i.e. circular, as if punched and not frayed like round bullets. Of course, these bullets are also allowed in competitions!!
Optional: with a die and a matching top punch calibrated for .451 (Ø11.45 mm).
Optional: Grease projectiles. The grease used is a self-produced, tried and tested black powder grease with an excellent spreading circle and grease effect.
Please note the dimensions of the projectiles so that they also fit the intended barrel!
It's no fun sending bullets back and forth just because the measurements weren't followed.
Das richtige Geschoss finden
Das Zugmaß gibt den Abstand zweier gegenüberliegender Züge zu einander an.
Das Zugmaß ist immer größer als das Feldmaß.
Das Feldmaß ist seinerseits geringfügig enger als das Maß des Kalibers, also des tatsächlichen Geschossdurchmessers.
Langgeschoss
Das ideale Geschossmaß für Langgeschosse liegt zwischen dem Feld- und dem Zugmaß. Es sollte jedoch immer kleiner und nie gleich dem Zugmaß sein.
Minie
Minié-Geschosse sollen sich leicht saugend laden lassen.Das Idealmaß ist 0,02 mm bis 0,05 mm kleiner als das Feldmaß.Da sich der Hohlboden bei der Explosion verdrückt und ausstültpt wird das Geschoss trotzdem sauber durch die Felder und Züge geführt.
Maxi-Ball
Maxi-Balls sind ähnlich zu behandeln wie Langgeschosse. Das ideale Geschossmaß liegt zwischen dem Feld- und dem Zugmaß.Auch hier sollte der Geschossdurchmesser jedoch nie gleich dem Zugmaß sein.
Bleikugel
Da Rundkugeln mit einem Pflasterpatch geschossen werden, ist hier die Ermittlung etwas komplexer.Die doppelte Pflasterstärke plus der Kugeldurchmesser erbibt das Zugmaß.Beispiel: Pflasterstärke 0,2 mmZugmaß: 11,40 mm→ Die Kugel sollte 11,00 mm im Durchmesser haben.
